Digital & Online Safety: A Safety Reminder
A few good habits worth keeping close by when it comes to digital & online safety.
Why this matters
A stolen password, an out-of-date app, or one careless click on a fake link can hand a scammer everything they need to get into your accounts or your money.
How to do it
Use a different, memorable password for every important account, install update notifications when they appear instead of dismissing them, and only enter banking details on a website address you typed yourself — never one you followed from a link.
Quick recap
- Use a different password for each account — don't use the same one for online banking and social media.
- A memorable phrase with a number and symbol added makes a strong password. Never share it with anyone, even someone who says they're from your bank.
- Only do online banking through your bank's official app or verified website — never over public WiFi at a shop or restaurant.
